The Vibe:

Founded in 1883 with 156 undergraduate degree programs, 1,300+ student organizations, 15 career centers, 7 museums, and more, the University of Texas at Austin truly has a place for every student on its campus.

With a campus located in the up-and-coming city of Austin, it’s no surprise that the entrepreneurial spirit of the city is a trait mirrored in UT Austin’s student body. UT Austin is not only in the top ten of public universities in the country, but it is also a leader in research. In fact, researchers at UT Austin discovered a habitable, Earth-sized exoplanet that is 300 light-years away from us in 2020. Additionally, since UT Austin embraces research across all disciplines, there was a former Art History professor who pioneered the exploration and interpretation of Mayan hieroglyphics.

Although UT Austin is rich in tradition and full of Texas pride, it is home to one of the most diverse campuses in the nation. There are students from all 50 states and 123 countries. Therefore, there is no shortage of learning opportunities even when class is not in session.

UT Austin knows that all of its students have great ideas, so its goal is to make sure that these ideas leave the classroom and change the world. The cornerstone motto of the university is “What starts here changes the world.”
