My Top Book Picks

Every year, I ask my clients what they are currently reading outside of class. Often, I get a blank stare rather than a response. With the current demands of high school, it is very difficult to find time to read for pleasure, right? However, it is still important to be able to discuss books you have read in the past few years for pleasure. Colleges hope to admit knowledgeable, well-rounded scholars, and asking what an applicant is currently reading has become a very common college interview question. In addition, many colleges have started to incorporate supplemental essay questions on their applications that inquire about recently read books. As a result, I have compiled a list of some of my favorite books (and books that are not often read in school). There is something for everyone on this list and a variety of genres to explore. Download a book on your phone, go to the library or even consider Audible, so you can listen to a book on your way to choir practice or a football game.
