Are Test-Optional Policies Here to Stay?
This past admissions season certainly deviated far from the norm. As the pandemic resulted in a surge in test-optional policies, many students with weaker scores no longer felt demoralized in applying to schools they may not have considered prior to the change. Every student is different, and some believe that their SAT/ACT scores do not accurately reflect their true potential for achievement. In this opinion piece, the author analyzes the effects of the adoption of test-optional policies and what this movement could mean for the future of college admissions.
